Overview

We built UFC's streaming platform to handle 2M+ concurrent users during live events. As the first mobile team, we created the foundation for low-latency video delivery that increased fan engagement by 40%. The platform uses smart content delivery to minimize buffering and keep fans connected to the action in real-time.

Deliverables

Native mobile apps for iOS and Android, built with Swift and Kotlin. Core features include video streaming, user authentication, subscription management, and offline downloads. The apps integrate with UFC's existing backend services and support multiple video quality options for different network conditions.

Custom video infrastructure for live stream processing and playback, built to handle UFC's global streaming demands. Integrated HLS/DASH decoding with adaptive bitrate switching and real-time quality monitoring.

Technical foundation for scalable development. We established a modular architecture with reusable components, standardized API patterns, and consistent code conventions. This groundwork enabled the UFC development team to build features faster while maintaining code quality across their platform.

Initial release of the UFC Fight Pass platform. We delivered a fully functional streaming service built with React and Node.js, featuring user authentication, video playback infrastructure, and subscription management. The first version included core features for fight library access, live event streaming capabilities, and basic user profiles. This foundation release established the technical architecture that would support millions of concurrent users and set up the platform for rapid feature expansion in subsequent iterations.

Performance optimization for global streaming infrastructure handling millions of concurrent users. Built custom CDN configuration and implemented adaptive bitrate streaming to maintain sub-200ms latency during peak events. Reduced server costs by 40% while improving stream quality metrics across all device types.

Streaming at fight-night scale

UFC needed a streaming platform capable of handling millions of concurrent viewers during live events. We built a video infrastructure using advanced stream decoding techniques to achieve sub-second latency. The platform scales automatically to meet global demand peaks, ensuring stable performance whether serving 10,000 or 10 million viewers simultaneously.

First mobile team on Fight Pass

We built the technical foundation for UFC Fight Pass as the project's first mobile development team. Our work included creating the boilerplate architecture, implementing performance-optimized streaming integration, and delivering the initial release build of the redesigned Fight Pass app. We collaborated directly with UFC's design team to translate their concepts into production-ready code, creating a platform that handles scale and adapts to UFC's evolving requirements.

FAQ

Get quick answers about working with us and our approach to digital solutions.

What’s included in a monthly retainer?

01

Each retainer includes a set number of design or strategy requests per month, priority turnaround, and a dedicated point of contact. It’s built for teams who want ongoing support without starting from scratch every time.

How many requests can I make per month?

02

We typically handle up to two active requests at a time, with new ones queued as they’re completed. Most deliverables are turned around within 48–72 hours, depending on complexity.

Is a retainer better than a one-off project?

03

If you need ongoing design support, faster turnarounds, or regular iterations, a retainer is often more cost-effective and collaborative than starting fresh each time.

Who will I be working with?

04

You’ll work directly with senior designers and strategists. No middle layers, no fluff—just experienced people doing the work.

Do you work with international clients?

05

Yes. Most of our clients are remote. We’re fully set up to collaborate across time zones with clear communication and shared tools.
